Job Location: Main reporting location will be the Southwest District Office in Springfield through part-time reporting to Regional Office in Joplin may be considered. If selected for further consideration, you will be contacted to schedule an interview for Monday, June 2, 2025.

The district construction and materials engineer provides district-wide oversight, technical expertise and quality assurance of district construction projects, materials inspections, and geotechnical operations. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.- Provide supervision and technical assistance to district resident engineers, materials staff, construction personnel, and geotechnical staff.
- Provide quality assurance for district construction activities.
- Serve as the district construction and materials representative during the project development process.
- Serve as the external contact for the public and media and the internal contact for department customer service and community relations personnel regarding district construction activities.
- Interpret project specifications for district construction and materials staff.
Special Working Conditions- Job requires exposure to moderately adverse and undesirable environmental conditions.
- This title requires advanced accreditation or licensure which is only available to holders of specific postsecondary degrees.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
- Eight years of experience in highway or transportation engineering.
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification required within 90 days.
