Join Our Team as a Fleet Manager!
We are looking for a driven and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support our dedicated Street Maintenance Department in maintaining and repairing the city’s streets.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate heavy equipment like backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, and more.
- Repair and maintain city streets (patch potholes, seal cracks, etc.).
- Install street signs, traffic devices, and holiday decorations.
- Clean ditches, culverts, and right-of-way areas.
- Perform minor building repairs and assist with herbicide applications.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain and operate various hand and power tools.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of street maintenance and safety practices.
- Good problem-solving skills and teamwork abilities.
- Clear communication and ability to follow instructions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain Air Brake Endorsement within six months.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Lift, bend, and operate machinery regularly.
- Exposure to dust, dirt, and heavy equipment noise.
- Use safety gear like gloves, goggles, and masks.
