OverviewThe Assistant Director is a key leader in Larimer County’s Community Corrections Department. This role oversees the Evaluations and Case Management Units and supports day-to-day operations, performance goals, and a positive workplace culture. You’ll work closely with the Director to ensure services are delivered effectively, state standards are met, and coordination happens across county and community partners.
Schedule- Monday-Friday, approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with some flexibility
- On-call approximately once every 9 weeks (for one full week)
- Must be available to respond to the facility during on-call weeks as needed

- Leading daily operations and staff for the Evaluations and Case Management units.
- Developing policies and goals that align with department objectives.
- Mentoring and coaching staff to support performance and well-being.
- Coordinating with agencies and community partners to improve services.
- Monitoring program effectiveness and leading planning and improvement efforts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in evaluation, programming, and support services.
- Overseeing audits and ensuring compliance with state standards.
- Representing the department on committees and in professional networks.

- Strong knowledge of Colorado Community Corrections, DCJ Standards, and funding processes.
- At least two years of leadership experience in a corrections or human services setting.
- Proven ability to plan, develop, and evaluate programs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with budgeting, audits, and performance improvement.
- Commitment to building a positive, accountable team culture.
- Confidence in handling compliance issues and corrective actions.

- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education, from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Criminal Justice disciplines, Business or Public Administration, or a related field required.
- Seven (7) years of experience in Colorado Criminal Justice Residential Operations, including a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a managerial role required.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.
- Possession of Adult CPR, First Aid and AED certification within six (6) months of hire is required.
