    The new Fort Worth Emergency Management & Communications (EM&C) Department is seeking a skilled Business Process Analyst II - Public Safety Technologyto join our Technology Services Team.

    The Emergency Management & Communications department plays a critical role in public safety by coordinating responses to emergencies and disasters, ensuring swift and effective communication among first responders, government agencies, and the public. It develops preparedness plans, manages emergency alert systems, and facilitates rapid information sharing to protect lives and property during crises.

    In this position, you will act as a technical liaison, primarily handling intricate business applications and serving as a project analyst. Your responsibilities will include providing user support, identifying customer needs, and enhancing business processes. You will also serve as a point of contact for departmental system issues, training, procedures, and testing. Administers and maintains projects, systems and/or technical business processes.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
    • Four (4) or more years of experience in providing technical support in an Emergency Communications and/or Emergency Operations Center.
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain compliance with CJIS standards
    • Must pass Drug Screen

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Two (2) or more years of experience in using and providing system administration and technical support for public safety software/technology solutions; including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD).

    The Business Process Analyst II - Public Safety Technology job responsibilities are to:
    • Provide first-line support and maintenance for audio, visual, computer equipment, and other technology-related systems across all Emergency Management and Communications (EM&C) facilitates.
    • Plans, tracks, and oversees activities on more complex departmental public safety projects related to systems and business requirements.
    • Establish and maintain a client role with the members of the EM&C Department to coordinate and meet the various IT needs for assigned projects.
    • Communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and to deliver business analyst artifacts as needed. Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, management staff, and vendor staff on project issues and status.
    • Manages applicable incoming requests and other IT-related requests, and documents work in applicable service management systems
    • Continuously monitor and evaluate the quality, responsiveness, efficiency and effectiveness of assigned information systems programs, methods and procedures, working with other team members on the continuous improvement of information systems and services.
    • Ensures compliance of information systems with regulations such as CJIS, HIPAA, and others.
    • Assists in inventory management, support, maintenance, and refresh/replacement schedule of Emergency Management & Communications Department computer equipment, such as PCs, laptops, cellular telephones, and tablets.
    • Analyze information processing requirements and systems; translate requirements defined during systems analysis into logical, economical, and practical system design alternatives; participate in the maintenance and modification of current systems.

    Working Conditions

    Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.

    Physical Demand

    Depending on assignment, positions in the class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.

    Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions it this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met

    Medical Program

    The City offers two plan options through Meritain Health, an Aetna company.

Also, services are available at any one of the five satellite locations that serves employees across the city.

    Vacation

    Eligible for 3 weeks of vacation: After successful completion of probationary period (usually

    Holidays

    Available on the first day of employment, the city provides employees with paid holidays, including two personal holidays.

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
