Job Summary: Organize, instruct and supervise in a classroom setting for one or more of the designated activities for adult and senior participants. Hours and days of work will include some evenings and weekends according to schedule needs, and works on average less than 20 hours per week.
The salary range for this position is
$18.78- $25.36 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
This is a part time opportunity working less than 20 hours per week and will be available to applicants until Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 3:30 P.M. M.S.T. Essential Functions: - Plan, coordinate and instruct programing and activities related specific programming topics for all age groups, which includes research, program development, and implementing lesson plans.
- Participate in required training.
- Inspect classroom and program environment and equipment to ensure safety.
- Handle emergencies according to established procedures.
- Complete administrative tasks such as skill assessment of participants, attendance sheets, class evaluations and class descriptions for brochures.
- Assess and procure class supplies.
- Provide make-up sessions as required.
Other Job Functions: - Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education: - High School Graduate or GED required.
- Course work or experience in recreation, education or related field preferred.
Experience: - 4 years experience as a primary activity instructor in the specified program for similar age group required.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office required.
- Previous participation and knowledge of the activity preferred.
- Previous experience working with all age groups preferred.
Certifications: - Must possess or obtain CPR and First Aid certification with 60 days of hire date.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Proficient knowledge of activity.
- Previous experience in working with and knowledge of age group applicable to program area.
- Communicate effectively and diplomatically with a diverse group of people, co-workers, and the general public.
- Excellent oral and written communications
- Must work well with others.
- Ability to plan, organize and create innovative activities.
- Prepare reports and track participation using math principles.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions: - Frequent l ight to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks. Frequently works with light objects and light hand tools.
- Occasional e xposure to hazards that are predictable or well protected against.
- Occasional e xposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
