    Job Summary

    The purpose of this position is to assist in the coordination, development, implementation and supervision of aquatic activities; to maintain aquatics facilities including ensuring proper pool chemical levels, and to assist with hiring, training of part-time and seasonal pool personnel.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Coordinates swim lessons and other classes by scheduling classes and instructors; advertising classes; supervising classes; teaching classes; and promoting water safety and water exercise.
    • Coordinates special events by creating special functions for the patrons to participate in through out the year that are different than daily activities.
    • Schedules staff by creating a weekly schedule for part-time lifeguards, seasonal lifeguards, and swim instructors.
    • Facilitates advertising by creating flyers and publication information; and distributing information to patrons.
    • Performs pool chemistry tests and safety checks.
    • Recruits, trains, organizes and supervises volunteers and contract paid staff
    • Performs water rescue utilizing first aid, CPR or advanced lifesaving techniques as needed and maintains reports of incident and accidents that may occur.
    • Monitors and inspects the facility; maintains inventory of equipment and supplies for the Natatorium
    • Conducts training, including lifeguard, CPR and first-aid training
    • Regular attendance and punctuality
    • Coordinates the city T.A.A.F. swim team by organizing registration, supervising coaches, organizing swim meets and marketing and promotion of the team.


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Education: High school diploma or GED

    • Experience: Two years of Aquatics programming and management related experience.

    • Certifications: Life Guarding Certificate, First Aid and CPR/AED certifications, Water Safety Instructor, Life Guarding Instructor certificate, & Certified Pool Operator certificate. Training will be provided if necessary.
    • License: Valid Texas Class C driver's license required.
