This position will work within the Office of the Director of the Department of Public Safety (DPS-DO) and will be responsible for assisting the grants programs general accounting practices as well as an array other task associated with grant revenues. Job Responsibilities: - Apply basic accounting theory and review fiscal transactions to ensure accuracy.
- Provides monthly accounting reports to grant program managers.
- Conduct routine analysis of fiscal data.
- Complete monthly fiscal reconciliation of all DPS Grant programs.
- Update monthly grant tracking spreadsheet for programmatic monthly reports.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP
- Ability to maintain automated and manual financial records
- Ability to work with multiple funding sources
- Ability to communicate effectively and pay attention to detail
- Ability to identify and solve transactional issues
- Ability to logically analyze, synthesize and judge information, as well as the demonstrated ability to review and incorporate multiple sources of information in performing assignments.
- Ability to examine, account for, reconcile, analyze, and interpret accounting data and records.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficient with spreadsheets, and software applications
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Ability to organize work assignments and multi-task.
- Knowledge of SAM II Financial
Minimum Qualifications:Applicants for this position must possess:
Bachelor’s degree and/or 2-3 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed).
