This position will support health inspectors across the state as they conduct inspections and investigations at food establishments and processors, lodging establishments, child care facilities, wastewater treatment installations, and other environmental health-related operations. - Oversee office operations to the ensure effective and efficient clerical support to bureau management.
- Supervise and provide support, technical assistance and oversight to (2) clerical staff in the bureau.
- Coordinate and track multiple projects, including establishing and/or monitoring due dates.
- Managing the flow of Fiscal Notes for the bureau, which include tracking and making sure deadlines are met.
- Ability to multi-task, anticipate priorities and work independently.
- Track documents through the approval process.
- Assist with business travel which includes, lodging, car reservations, conference registrations etc.
- Proof documents, letters, memos and bureau policies.
- Answer the main line and route to the appropriate program.
- Schedule meetings and prepare applicable documents.
- Attend bureau budget meetings and management meetings.
- Oversee bureau supplies by maintain supply inventory and storage areas.
- Process expense reports, purchase requests, and manage fix asset inventory.
- Support the confidential processing of personnel information.
- Open and process daily mail and distribute to the appropriate person(s).
- Graduate with a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience (substitutions allowed).
- Good telephone skills and customer service.
- Well organized and an ability to pay attention to detail.
- Excellent skills with standard office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.) with the ability to learn specialized software systems.
