Higginsville Habilitation Center is recruiting for a Speech-Language Pathologist to be a part of a highly effective team that makes a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. HHC is a state-operated program within the Department of Mental Health and supports individuals receiving 24/7 services.
The Speech-Language Pathologist must be detail-oriented, work well with others, have good time management skills, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Excel and other computer programs.
Responsibilities:Will be accountable for planning, developing, evaluating, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring speech, language, and hearing services. Will administer and arrange for remedial and therapeutic services through individual or group instruction. Observes patients and monitors and tests for progress. Provides consultation to educational and treatment staff and participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team in developing and implementing individual treatment plans. Work may include supervision of subordinate staff engaged in speech and hearing activities. Additional responsibilities could include supervision of Therapeutic Service Workers, scheduling, and/or management of the Therapy Department.
Knowledge: Knowledge of the current principles, procedures, techniques, and instrumentation used in evaluating the speech, language, and hearing status of the individuals HHC serves. Knowledge of the relationships among speech, language and hearing problems, with particular concern for individuals having multiple disabilities. Ability to evaluate communication potential of Individuals and apply appropriate therapy plans.
Qualifications:Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Missouri.

Schedule:Negotiable: Part-time (non-benefit eligible), permanent part-time (benefit eligible), and full-time options available, dependent on additional responsibilities.
