Licensed Professional Counselor Division of Developmental Disabilities Salary: $ 1,458.00 - $2,955.00 s emi-monthlyApply by July 15, 2025South County Habilitation Center currently has an opening for full time Licensed Professional Counselor. This position is benefits eligible and will work Monday through Friday, with Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays off. The position work schedule will be between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. as well as having flexibility to meet consumer’s needs.
JOB DUTIES This is a licensed professional counseling position responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating counseling and related therapeutic services in a habilitation facility. Employees at this level formulate and present treatment plan recommendations for review during interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Knowledge of psychodiagnostics and psychotherapeutic theories and techniques; and personality theory, human development, and abnormal psychology. Ability to administer, score, and interpret complex test results. The ideal candidate will have experience in crisis intervention and be proficient in therapeutic modalities such as MBSR, ACT and DBT.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - • Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
- • Proven experience providing individual and group therapy services.
- • Strong clinical knowledge and application of crisis counseling and de-escalation technique.
Preferred experience and skills - • Demonstrated ability to utilize evidence- based practices such as:
- • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reductions (MBSR)
- • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or co-occurring mental health conditions.
- • Skilled in trauma-informed care and collaborative treatment planning.
- • DMH employees who have had a disciplinary action within the past 12 months will not be considered.
