As a Data Technician you will have the opportunity to develop complex SSRS reports and SQL Server stored procedures that make data available to users of our data and applications, and assist users with their own data queries as a member of an agile, well organized team. This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Department of Mental Health (DMH).

- Develop and maintain complex reports using SSRS or other reporting tools as needed.
- Develop and support complex stored procedures and custom functions.
- Analyze, solve, and correct production issues and provide documentation.
- Communicate with business users to establish report requirements.
- Use critical thinking skills and good judgment in decision making.
- Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment using Agile methodology.
- Analyze, design, and develop code for daily work and projects.
- Adhere to established technical standards.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2-5 years of Information Technology experience with emphasis in data management, data integration, or data reporting required.
- SQL Server Management Studio.
- Visual Studio 2019 or above.
- Development of SSRS reports and complex stored procedures.
- Design and maintenance of complex reports using multiple tables and fields.
- Familiar with Azure DevOps.
- Strong data investigation and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and design concepts with practical experience in the implementation of these concepts.
- Familiar with Agile development concepts.
- Experience with source control and Visual Studio 2019 or later versions is preferred.
- Development using Tableau, Power BI, or Power Apps cloud tools in Azure a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be organized, self-motivated, and to work on a team or independently as required.
- The desire to continually develop new skills and improve existing skills.
- Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant. Knowledge of database management tools, reporting, structure/design, and query languages. Knowledge of how data structure/design affects network performance. Ability to learn and apply technical-related concepts. Ability to follow technical directions. Ability to problem-solve and apply analytical skills in resolving data issues.
