Chief CounselLabor and Industrial Relations Commission Annual Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $115,000.00
Why you will love this position: The Missouri Labor and Industrial Relations Commission is a higher authority that reviews workers’ compensation and unemployment compensation cases, as well as tort victims’ compensation fund appeals, prevailing wage objections, and postsecondary degree hiring appeals. What you will do: • Report directly to and advise the Commissioners
• Manage a team of licensed attorneys
• Assign and monitor cases among the staff attorneys
• Analyze and summarize evidence
• Conduct legal research
• Draft legal memoranda, recommendations, proposed orders, and decisions for Commissioners
• Proofread awards and orders
• Assist with oral arguments
• Provide guidance and advice on Sunshine Law matters
• Draft fiscal note responses to proposed legislation
• Draft and review proposed regulations
• Answer legal and procedural questions posed by Commissioners and staff
• Respond to inquiries from the parties and the public
All you need for success: Minimum Qualifications • Licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri
• Member of The Missouri Bar in good standing
