The Healthcare Data Analyst will work alongside the healthcare contract monitoring and quality improvement team in the Division of Offender Rehabilitative Services of the Missouri Department of Corrections. The person in this position will provide direct insight into current institutional healthcare operations by supporting: the evaluation of policy and programming; the development of research projects and proposals for funding; the sharing of information to support healthcare operations; and providing reports to assist in monitoring the Comprehensive Healthcare Contract. Doing well in the position requires effort toward continuous improvement of technical skills, as well as interests in fields like healthcare, sociology, criminology, criminal justice, social work, psychology, and economics.
- Use statistical software to extract and manage data
- Respond to ad hoc requests through reports using tables, graphics, and narrative
- Develop procedures and methodology to be used in analyzing data
- Compile data for yearly surveys and reports
Minimum Qualifications: Six or more years of professional experience, relevant/similar to the above listed job functions.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for up to four years of the listed experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year - a minimum of two years of experience is required)
Preferred Qualifications/Skills: - Experience working with statistical software such as SAS, SPSS, STATA, R, Python, or SQL.
- Use of database tools(s) for data management and designing queries for the development and maintenance of reporting tables
- Development of data visualizations using software such as Tableau, WebFOCUS, PowerBI, Qlik, or SAS Visual Analytics
- Successful contributions to team projects focused on the development of business intelligence

- A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
- A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
- A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
