Registered Nurse in their Prenatal Women's Health Clinic!
The Women's Health Clinic is seeking a dedicated Prenatal Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care to clients seeking Women's Health Services. As a Prenatal Clinic Nurse, you will play a vital role in making a difference in a diverse community.
The Women’s Clinic Nurse will:
- Provide prenatal educational materials and information advocating for gestational health and childbirth outcomes
- Triage clients and respond to prenatal triage calls
- Document visits in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with North Carolina’s local health department agreement addendum
- Conduct patient interviews, obtain medical and pregnancy histories
- Offer counseling and education related to pregnancy and childbirth
- Assess vaccination status and administer vaccinations as needed
- Perform fetal non stress tests (NST)
- Make patient referrals to intradepartmental and community resources such as the WIC, Medicaid, and other community providers based on assessment results related to social determinants of health
- Review lab results and provide follow up or communicate plan to provider as appropriate
- Administer medications and treatment per protocol
- Accept responsibility and accountability for care associated with the nurse delegation model by appropriately delegating to unlicensed personnel (to include but not limited to certified medical assistants, and certified nursing assistants)
- Precept, train, and assist nursing students and/or new hire staff (after 1 or validation of competency from nursing supervisor)
**Work Schedule note: 8:15am-5:15pm with an expectation to work one evening clinic per week until 7:15pm to make 40 hours per week. **
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
- No specific experience required
- Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse as issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Basic CPR certification
- Experience in Public health, prenatal care, and/or Women's health
- Spanish language skills preferred but not required
