We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic and inclusive staff member to join our Benefits and Community Support Division as a Senior Administrative Specialist.
The Senior Administrative Specialist will help support a team of Administrative Specialists that staff a phone team for the main public benefits line for the department, and prepare applications and route documents to be worked and processed by the appropriate staff. This position is expected to provide backup, when needed, to support the volume of incoming work and be strategic about how to manage and balance the workload across the team. This position will work closely with the Administrative Supervisor to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the administrative staff answering client questions over the phone, and preparing and routing documents for processing.
This is a hybrid position that requires at least one day per week in the office. You must have adequate internet access and a dedicated remote workspace. Larimer County provides an annual remote work stipend to help with equipment and office supply needs.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be doing:
- Exercising indirect supervision over assigned staff
- Providing lead accountability for team members, including scheduling, assigning and reviewing work, training in work methods, and contributing to hiring and performance evaluations
- Entering and maintaining data in computer systems or databases, proofreading for accuracy, and running standard reports as needed
- Evaluating customer service quality, case documentation, and application accuracy through quality assurance processes
- Reviewing case documentation and staff actions for accuracy and consistency
- Serving as a resource or subject matter expert in the program area, offering technical guidance to less experienced staff
- Delivering excellent customer service, particularly over the phone

QualificationsAll candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
- Four (4) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required.
