    Overview

    Are you passionate about nutrition and making a real impact in public health? Ready to take the lead in managing vital programs that support women, infants, children, and families? If so, we want YOU to be our next Nutrition Manager!

    As our Nutrition Manager, you will oversee and manage the Supplemental Food and Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor program (BFPC), as well as supplementary grant programming when or if funding is available. You'll lead a dynamic team, drive program success across multiple sites, and ensure our nutrition services empower the community while meeting federal and state standards.

    The typical schedule for this position is 8am-4:30 pm Monday- Friday; Hybrid Remote work available to meet the business needs.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll be doing:
    • Supervising and mentoring nutrition professionals and interns, fostering growth and excellence.
    • Managing program operations, budgets, and compliance for WIC, and BFPC.
    • Collaborating with the health department and community partners to expand nutrition outreach.
    • Leading staff training and professional development to keep the team at the forefront of nutrition best practices.
    • Overseeing and providing expert nutrition assessment and counseling for high-risk clients.

    What we're looking for:
    • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with a Master’s degree in nutrition.
    • Experienced supervisor with at least 1 year leading teams in public health nutrition desired.
    • Knowledgeable in WIC policies and public health nutrition programs.
    • A skilled communicator with the ability to engage and inspire both staff and community members.
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish? That’s a plus!


    Qualifications

    All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
    • Three (3) years of supervisory experience, preferably in a public health setting.
    • Two (2) years of WIC experience is preferred, with comprehensive knowledge of WIC policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in dietetics or nutrition science required.
    • Master's degree or equivalent in human nutrition, public health, health education or related field required. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
    • Possess reliable transportation to be able to work in any County facility as needed and required.
    • Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) or RDN, through Commission on Dietetic Registration and maintain registration status by completing the required Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics CPEUs (Continuing Professional Education Units) and Professional Development Portfolio for each applicable five (5) year reporting period required.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
