The Missouri Bureau of Immunizations mission is to stop the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases by providing vaccines to children and adolescents who cannot pay for them through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. This position serves as a subject matters expert for clinical questions regarding vaccinations, collaborates with healthcare providers both public and private, school nurses and organizations to increase vaccination rates.
The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
- Conduct in-person quality improvement visits with VFC Providers.
- Analyze VFC provider immunization rates, vaccine ordering and missed opportunity reports.
- Provide technical and clinical assistance to immunization providers and school nurses regarding recommended immunizations.
- Conduct immunization trainings as needed to healthcare providers.
- Exhibit and or attend immunization related conferences and assist with immunization clinics as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: - Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing in Missouri or a compact state.
- A basic working knowledge of immunizations and public health.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as a team, taking initiative with minimal direction to creatively solve problems.
- Must have current CPR certification.
- Must have strong organization and excellent time management skills.
- A valid driver's license as extensive travel is required.
