Reentry Employer Engagement Consultant is an experienced, business professional who is responsible for establishing and maintaining a working relationship with employers to determine their hiring needs and educating them on the benefits of partnering with CAWD and Wake Local Reentry Council. They will also manage the Wake LRC employment process including connecting qualified candidates to employers, developing and maintaining employer contacts and ongoing communication within CAWD’s employer database.
This position provides quality customer service to businesses and the economic development community through the marketing and delivery of a vast array of products available within the CAWD system. The candidate selected for this role will use their knowledge of reentry or lived experience and workforce resources to provide services that help business customers meet their human resource needs. They are also responsible for following up with employers to ensure their needs are met and ensuring contract compliance. Also, they will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical and/or technical assistance, track performance, maintain accurate documentation and submit accurate and prompt reports.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Sales or related field
- Two years of job-related experience
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Three years of experience in employer engagement
- One year experience working with the employment barriers of justice-impacted individuals (could be through lived experience)
How Will We Know You're 'The One'? - Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employers to promote use of workforce development services while being flexible and creative in the use of resources to meet changing customer demands
- Knowledge of and experience with sales/marketing or HR, including (recruiting, application process, hiring, termination, assessment tools) and specialized HR topics (benefits, turnover analysis, job skills analysis, staff development)
- Ability to conduct business research on individual employers/industries when consulting
- Skilled in operating office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet business needs (e.g., Microsoft Office and electronic document management system)
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) to groups or individuals at a business/ professional level
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maximize the use of time so that the many diverse tasks associated with the position can be completed accurately, and timely
- Ability to work well in teams and independently as a self-motivated professional able to focus on results and solutions
- Thoroughness in accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved, no matter how small
- Ability to monitor and check work or information and plans and organizes time and resources efficiently
- Ability to manage own time, priorities and resources to achieve goals
