Patient Access Representative provides high quality service to Health Clinics. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Physicians, Physician Extenders, Nurses, Nurse Aides, Clinical Social Worker, Human Services Technician and Customer Service Representatives, all working together to meet the goals of the work area. The Patient Access Representative is an integral part of the Health Clinic team and serves as the public’s first point of contact for the Health Clinic.
Essential Responsibilities: - Responds to inquiries from both internal and external customers
- Gather intake or service requests information
- Registers customers for services, schedules appointments and service-calls and provides necessary information
- Receives monies, enters customer information into databases and provides receipts if appropriate
- Balance cash drawers and process invoices
- Work in the Prenatal or Women's Health Clinic according to program needs.
**Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:15am-5:15pm w/ an expectation to work one even clinic per week until 7:15pm to make a 40 hours

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - High school diploma or GED
- One year of job-related experience
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Bilingual strongly preferred
- Experience translating Spanish to English in a medical or healthcare environment
- Customer service experience in a Prenatal and Family Planning clinic strongly preferred
- Customer service experience in a Public Health environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Medical office experience
- Medical terminology
