The preferred candidate will have experience as a graphic designer who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations, in both print and electronic media and have expert knowledge of current design software being skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to final deliverable. Collaborating with multiple teams, this position will take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding to find the right style and layout for every project.Directs/supervises all phases of research/development/delivery of training programs for employees and/or clients of Corrections; recommends administrative training policies/programs/actions essential for promoting staff development and professional growth; studies agency programs/policies/objective/regulations/ operating procedures to determine the activities to be performed, duties and responsibilities involved, and the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for staff performance
Consults with Corrections leaders and work teams to determine present and/or future organizational and individual development needs; provides consultative or technical support to Correctional personnel regarding the planning/scheduling/delivery of training; evaluates training effectiveness; recommends and/or determines revisions; implements revisions to specific training programs
Researches/develops/implements training materials; writes and develops training curriculums; attends Corrections staff meetings and training conferences to keep abreast of training needs and operating problems
Exercises supervision over professional/technical/clerical staff; receives general supervision from an administrative supervisor who reviews work for attainment of program objectives; performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:One or more years of experience as a Staff Development Training Specialist with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System
ORSeven or more years of professional supervisory experience with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System.
OR Seven or more years of professional or technical experience in a business, governmental, or military setting, where the primary duties involved formal classroom training, training course design and development, and/or curriculum planning; professional teaching experience at the high school level or above; and/or educational administration involving responsibility for curriculum planning and the supervision of teaching staff
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university that include earned credit hours in Education, Business or Public Administration, the social sciences, or a closely related field may substitute for up to four years of the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year - a minimum of three years of the listed experience is required)
All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed. Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:
- A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
- A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
- A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
