    Overview

    At Larimer County Department of Human Services, we strive to be responsive, provide timely resources in partnership with our community so individuals and families are healthy, supported, and safe. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic and inclusive staff member to join our Benefits and Community Support (BCS) Division as an Eligibility Training Manager.

    The Eligibility Training Manager leads and supports a team of Senior Community Support Specialists who provide training on eligibility programs (food assistance, medical assistance and financial assistance) to new and experienced Community Support Specialists. The Training Manager also supports staff that research cases and work with clients to address case issues and questions. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of adult learning theory and experience in training adults using various methods.

    The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll be doing:
    • Developing and implementing training plans, identifying training priorities, and evaluating procedures and guidelines.
    • Coordinating and conducting in-person and virtual training sessions in an inclusive, engaging format.
    • Providing ongoing feedback, evaluation, and professional development to eligibility trainers.
    • Attending department and state meetings regarding policy updates and changes.
    • Hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
    • Assigning and adjusting workloads to meet department deadlines and client needs.
    • Reviewing case documentation and actions for accuracy and compliance.
    • Advising and assisting staff on complex cases, work methods, control systems, and interpretation of policies and procedures.
    • Ensuring integrity, consistency, and accuracy in benefit determinations and policy application.
    • Evaluating program compliance and recommending automated system modifications.
    • Analyzing, interpreting, and providing input regarding county and state program policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • One (1) year of supervisory experience required.
    • Three (3) years of experience in eligibility and support programs or a directly related field required.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.

    Supplemental Information

    This position is a hybrid position and will require at least one day/week in the office. You will be required to have adequate internet access and space for remote work. Larimer County provides an annual remote work stipend to assist with equipment and office supply needs for remote workspaces.

    All new employees and rehires will be required to submit fingerprints for a CBI criminal background check (c.r.s. 26-6-104).

    All staff working in the Adult Protection Unit or Office on Aging will be required to submit information for a Colorado Adult Protective Services data system check (c.r.s. 26-3-1-111).
