This position will be located at
Echo Bluff State Park 35244 Echo Bluff Drive: Eminence, MO. Shift is Monday through Friday (five 8-hour days per week), 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (30-minute lunch break). Shifts may vary with the time of year and to meet the needs of the facility; that could include working nights, weekends, holidays, evenings, and split shifts. Must be available to participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays.
Located in a very scenic and rural portion of Missouri this position is a great opportunity to manage the Current River Management Unit consisting of Echo Bluff State Park, Current River State Park, and the Trails of the Roger Pryor Pioneer Backcountry. The area is an outdoor recreation haven within the management unit and Ozark National Scenic Riverways with ample opportunities in the area for floating the scenic riverways, hiking, backpacking, camping, etc.
- Oversee and manage the overall operation and maintenance of Current River Management Unit consisting of Echo Bluff State Park, Current River State Park, and Trails of the Roger Pryor Backcountry, including operation and maintenance of campgrounds, day use areas, trail network, historic buildings and grounds, lodging, small maintenance and repair projects, and visitor service functions.
- Supervise permanent, seasonal, temporary, and volunteer employees in the protection, maintenance, operation, and repair of state parks/historic sites, natural and cultural resources, facilities, equipment, and systems. Skill in managing and collaborating with staff.
- Plan and direct natural or cultural history interpretation, resource management and research for Current River Management Unit.
- Plan and coordinate special events, group outings, and special program requests with a variety of stakeholders.
- Colaborate with other agencies and/or stakeholders always seeking for opportunities to partner to better serve visitors or protect resources
- Skill in reviewing, analyzing, interpreting, and/or preparing federal or state laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to assigned program.
- Assist in resource stewardship activities.
- Ability to develop budget and project recommendations and perform administrative functions including revenue and procurement.
- Respond to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, personal injuries, disturbances, natural disasters, and any other significant events within the park.
- Oversee concession contract and work with concessionaire’s on providing a quality experience to visitors

Equivalent to those typically gained by: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university can include Park Management, Parks and Recreation, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Botany, Biology, Natural Sciences, Business of Public Administration or related field AND 5 or more years of management, supervision and participation in interpretation, preservation, protection, maintenance and enhancement of state parks and historic sites . (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
Training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma as well as completion of Missouri Way, Leadership Academy, and similar programs is preferred.
