Incumbents inspect runways, taxiways, and related airport Air Operational Areas (AOA) for proper maintenance and safety conditions; opens or closes runways, taxiways, and airside operational areas; and ensures that the facility continually operates in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airport certification requirements.
