Position Description Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit. Major/Essential Functions Work with resident and attending physician teams to further research projects in the department. Meets the minimum requirements for professional development as outlined by the SOM Education Plan. Ensure 100% compliance of full requirement of the SOM Educational Plan for yourself. Evaluate your progress by reviewing quarterly the ACME Transcripts of Training as well as any training certificates from other sources verifying attendance. Works as the department liaison with the Office of Clinical Research, Covenant IRB, and TTUHSC IRB. Report to research committee updates on research and scholarly activity projects. Direct medical students interested in psychiatry research into projects. Develop and teach the research didactic for the Psychiatry residents. Work with faculty and residents to coordinate all research by the Department. Submit research proposals to the appropriate IRB (St. Joe's, Covenant, or TTUHSC). Submit research proposals for research grants and outside funding. Required Qualifications PhD, PsyD, MD, DO or Foreign equivalent degree required. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree or specialized academic training beyond the Bachelor’s level in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a Master’s degree. One year research experience. Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof. Medical Doctor (MD) degree with specialization in Psychiatry. Experience with Psychiatric clinical research and grant writing. Pay Statement Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan.
