The Department of Planning, Building and Code Enforcement (PBCE) is currently recruiting to fill multiple Code Enforcement Inspector I/II positions in the Code Enforcement Division . The Code Enforcement Division is looking for self-motivated individuals with experience working in an inspection, regulatory, or enforcement environment with strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. As a Code Enforcement Inspector I/II, you would be performing a variety of inspection, investigative, and enforcement duties in relation to housing, building construction and environmental codes, zoning, land use, solid waste facilities, signs, health and safety, and state, federal, and municipal regulations and other laws, rules, and regulations as assigned. In addition, you would be tasked to gather facts related to applicable ordinances, codes, laws, rules, and regulations to help determine and institute proper action to be taken. Working with a variety of individuals and other entities, including citizens, business owners, homeowner groups, City, county and state offices and special districts is a constant, and as such, there may be instances when you may be required to explain, interpret, and make presentations of ordinances, codes, laws, rules, and regulations to citizens, group, agencies, businesses, and other entities. Incumbents will be required to complete Form 700 Statement of Economic Interests. This recruitment may be used to fill multiple positions in this, or other divisions or departments. Salary Code Enforcement Inspector I: $68,993.60 -$83,803.20 annually Code Enforcement Inspector II: $79,913.60 - $97,136.00 annually The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate’s qualifications and experience. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Code Enforcement Inspector I/II classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.
