Work involves, conducting assessments to identify and evaluate the potential threats and vulnerabilities of the organization's assets and operations and implementing security policies and procedures to establish and maintain the appropriate level of protection for the organization's data, systems, and users. Monitoring and responding to security incidents to detect, contain, analyze, and resolve any breaches or attacks that may compromise the organization's security or compliance. Providing guidance and training to staff and stakeholders on security best practices, awareness, and responsibilities. Works with internal and external auditors and regulators to demonstrate the organization's adherence to relevant standards and regulations.. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in information technology security, computer information systems, computer science, management information systems, or a related field. Experience: Five years of full-time experience in information technology, two of which must have been security related fields. Experience in planning and managing information systems and technology projects. NOTE: Experience may have occurred concurrently. Background Check: Required to pass a national fingerprint-based background check prior to employment offer. Potential candidates will be responsible for expenses related to the background check. Licensure: Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid class "C" Texas driver's license.
