Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Bureau Director, Enterprise Service Bureau (ESB), California Justice Information Services (CJIS), the Firearms Information Technology System Modernization (FITSM) Project Director, will provide executive and strategic leadership to direct, manage and support the California Department of Justice (DOJ) FITSM and related projects. The FITSM Project Director will be responsible for the overall direction and delivery of the FITSM Project. The FITSM Project Director will be responsible for the development of proposed policies and procedures related to the FITSM Project, while also determining the appropriate means of implementation and compliance of project personnel. The FITSM Project Director will provide oversight and direction of the FITSM Project through partnership with diverse groups of organizations including but not limited to DOJ Bureaus, DOJ Divisions, and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), in support of the DOJ’s goals and objectives. The FITSM Project Director, in conjunction with the FITSM Project Manager (Information Technology Manager II), will be accountable for all aspects of planning, staffing, training, and monitoring of the scope and budget related to FITSM. The Project Director will work closely with DOJ Bureau Directors and Division Chiefs to carry out the project vision and ensure business continuity and compliance with statutory requirements. The Project Director will act as the primary liaison between key legacy system staff, operational leadership and the end-user community by overseeing the development of educational and training programs and the development of reporting functionality to support system live and post live activities. The New Jersey Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) seeks a problem solver committed to using technology to advance good government and promote government transparency and accountability. As Director of Information Technology, you will be responsible for identifying existing and emerging technologies to enable analysts, auditors, investigators and lawyers to uncover facts, report to the public, and identify solutions to problems, all in an effort to make government more efficient, transparent and accountable. Responsibilities:
* Develop, communicate and implement an innovative IT strategy and roadmap for using technology to enhance our oversight of state and local governments.
* Advise the State Comptroller, Chief of Staff, and senior management on technology and trends in information technology.
* Prepare and present reports to senior management highlighting IT performance metrics, risks, and opportunities.
* Lead staff, providing guidance, mentorship and fostering a collaborative work environment.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, auditors, investigators and lawyers, in oversight efforts that involve technology and data and assist senior management with problem-solving related to the office’s investigations, audits and reviews.
* Develop and maintain a strategy for computer and communication systems, including the agency’s website and intranet.
* Design data-focused webpages that present information related to OSC’s reports.
* Recommend and assist with implementation of software and web applications, and assist OSC in adopting emerging technologies to strengthen oversight efforts.
* Review, draft and ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and data privacy requirements in all IT operations.
* Identify and oversee technology and innovation training for all agency employees.
* Act as a liaison with other state agencies and external parties or consultants.
* Assist with implementation of the State’s privacy, cybersecurity and related policies, assess risk, and identify when specialized IT support is needed.

Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or relevant field from an accredited college or university.

* Minimum of four (4) years’ experience involving technology, project management or data analytics, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.

Classification Information Technology Consultant - Career Position Information The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Lead Technology Specialist to be responsible for coordinating all aspects of administrative and academic technology for the CalStateTEACH program: including the public and course websites, the learning management system and work folio, supervision software, the data warehouse, data migration, accreditation websites, and evaluation portfolios. AWS and QuickSight). -Collect and secure confidential ERSA and ERSS student/applicant data; create reports for Title II, IAP and CCTC Biennial reports; and continue development of candidate data dashboard. -Reporting user audits to campus stakeholders and systemwide security leads. Training and Collaboration -Weekly in-person meetings with Systemwide Director, Instructional/Multimedia Developer, Technology Support Specialist and one representative from the Curriculum Committee. -Collaborates with Information Technology Services and Technology Support Specialist on integrating and improving educational technology programs for Canvas to the CalStateTEACH student and faculty portal. -Collaborate on sensitive projects such as systemwide projects with the Systemwide Director including assisting with Graduation Initiative 2025 and developing technology for the Educator Leadership Programs Department in support of the Department’s data management needs. -Participating in the development and delivery of training to developers and end-users. -Mentoring other team members on creating user-intuitive, well-thought-out, attractive reporting solutions using the latest tools. Technology Coordination -Coordinating and implementing solutions for quality assurance and unit testing. -Manage central online application which includes upkeep and modification of the CalState APPLY application; work with staff at lead campuses and Academic and Student Affairs Business Systems to facilitate smooth data transfer from CalState APPLY into different SIS databases. -Creating standard documentation and providing metadata for end users and IT staff. -Quality assurance/validation of applications, dashboards, and reports. -Building and maintaining organized report library/catalogs using GIT repositories. -Performing quarterly user audits, updating, and maintaining our roster of active Applications users.
