This position is located in our Repair Shop in Sparks. Highway Equipment Mechanics make repairs effectively and efficiently, perform repairs utilizing oxy-acetylene and electric weldingprocesses, work within the M-5 system keeping track of their repair times and entering workorder notes and making sure equipment operates to OEM standards and or manufacturers specifications. Research parts manuals and order correct replacementparts. Review manuals/bulletins to keep abreast of modern and continually changing technology. Duties are performed in a complete and timely manner.Perform road service calls outside of the equipment shop or diagnosis determines that the unit goes to the shop for further repairs. Perform repairs on all aspects of NDOTequipment in the fleet. Perform all other assigned duties and tasks that are within my capabilities., Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
