Job Description and Duties FORESTRY AIDE (SEASONAL) - OCEANO DUNES DISTRICT / OFF-HIGHWAY MOTOR VEHICLE RECREATION Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. General duties also include: fence, sign, and nest exclosure installation and maintenance; using Geographic Positioning Systems (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS); and collecting and entering field data into database, conducting analysis, and reporting under the direction of resource experienced staff. May also direct work crews; work with the public as a State Park representative and with an interdisciplinary team; operate street legal and off-highway vehicles in sand conditions; operate a chain saw for shrub removal; and may assist with small mammal trapping, fish surveys, and other terrestrial surveys.
