Job Description and Duties The Graduate Student Assistant (MSW Intern) receives general supervision from the assigned Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker and receives clinical supervision from a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Social Work Services at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to: • Documentation and recording • Treatment and discharge planning • Professional, resource, and training functions • Program evaluation and development Expectations for entering internship are including but not limited to : • Working on coursework towards a degree within the area of Social Work and anticipated completion of a Master's of Social Work Degree from an accredited college or university. • Learn micro and micro level of social work by conducting discharge planning and working with community partners. • Learn co-facilitate treatment groups. • Conduct psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and documentation. **Applicants possessing experience with adult psychiatric patients and/or prison inmates are encouraged to apply** You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement . Oversees an assigned population of students and coordinates activities and intervention strategies based on their needs. Plans, executes, and assesses student programming and campaigns each year, for an assigned student population, to help support student success and increase student engagement. Assists specialists with degree audits for various campaigns, such as undeclared campaigns. Supports the Assistant Director with training through shadowing, mock advising, and providing feedback. Coordinates and participates in outreach activities.
