This position is located in our Repair Shop in Carson City. Make repairs effectively and efficiently. Perform repairs utilizing oxy-acetylene and electric weldingprocesses. Work within the M-5 system keeping track of repair orders and closing them out when complete.Ensure equipment operates to OEM standards, manufacturers specifications and replacement partwarranties. The components are bonded, and the welds match the strength of the base metal. When workorders are completed, they are closed out and filed. Research parts manuals and order correct replacementparts. Review manuals/bulletins to keep abreast of modern and continually changing technology. Correctparts are received around 95% of the time. Your knowledge is utilized in the diagnosis or repair of a newproduct or vehicle. Duties are performed in a complete and timely manner.Perform road service calls outside of the equipment shop. Perform repairs on all aspects of NDOTequipment in the fleet. Perform all other assigned duties and tasks that are within my capabilities. Equipment is repaired safely, or diagnosis determines that the unit goes to the shop for extensive repairs.You can solve job related problems on your own. You can determine what needs to be done with minimalsupervision. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. It is essential that applications/resumes include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process. Special Requirements A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. An American Welding Society welding certi­fication is required. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
