Job Description and Duties SKILLED LABORER (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) - STRATEGIC PLANNING & RECREATION DIVISION / STATEWIDE TRAILS PROGRAM / MCCLELLAN BUSINESS PARK The reporting location for this position is McClellan Business Park, located at 4940 Lang Avenue, in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the supervision of the Staff Park and Recreation Specialist and the lead of an Associate Landscape Architect. This position performs statewide inventory and assessment of state park facilities as part of the California State Parks inventory process. This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to inventory facilities at all the parks within the State Park System. The work schedule will be eight day working shifts, consisting of 10-hour workdays, Wednesday to Wednesday, with six days off between shifts. This position requires you to work nights, weekends, and odd hours and overtime. This position will also spike camp at campgrounds and remote locations throughout the State. Spike camping will be required every night for all work shifts. This position is designated as not telework eligible. This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. Job Description and Duties SKILLED LABORER - Oceano dunes district/ oceano dunes Maintenance yard / oceano svra The reporting location for this position is the Oceano Dunes maintenance yard located at 900 Pacific Blvd. Oceano, CA 93445. This is a Permanent Intermittent position and can work a maximum of 1500 hours per year. Under the direction of the Park Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent performs skilled and semiskilled structural, facility, housekeeping, landscape, road and trail maintenance within the Oceano Dunes State Vehicle Recreation Area and Pismo State Beach of the Oceano Dunes District. The incumbent will lead seasonal, volunteer, California Conservation Corps, or Cal Fire crews among others. The incumbent will assist with the facility maintenance program CAMP and with the purchasing of materials necessary for projects and facility maintenance. All duties shall be performed in a safe manner in compliance with Department policies, safety orders, established safe work practices and the District's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). This position may be required to work occasional odd or irregular hours, including holidays. May assist with training, including off road vehicle operation, power tools and saws, and safety. The incumbent will assist with beach operations for the eight hundred fifty-acre State Vehicle Recreation Area and will also work with Resource Management staff on dune stabilization and restoration projects, application of herbicides for the removal of non-native plants, and assist with the protection efforts for the threatened Western Snowy Plover and endangered California Least Tern. Description: Position Summary Classified as:Laborer Facilities Services is continually building a pool of applicants interested in hourly-intermittent temporary employment.
