In addition, these position require the ability to: Establish rapport with clients and the public Document information in a detailed and timely manner Work in a fast-paced environment Problem solve and give directions Stand and wear an N95 mask for up to 8 hours Swab clients who are in a seated position (in chair or in car) Read and write English to complete lab slips and labels WORK SCHEDULE AND REQUIREMENTS For COVID-19 testing services, the Public Health Nurse I positions will need to be Fit-tested for N95 (DHS provides on-site), and wear full PPE when swabbing. They may be required to drive a van to a testing location, carry 10-15 pound items to/from the van to the testing location, and stand for long periods. For COVID-19 case management services, the Public Health Nurse I position will be required to wear a face covering while participating within the Public Health offices. Schedules will vary; however, coverage will be 7 days a week between the hours of 8am and 6pm Hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Assignments will not be scheduled for less than32 hours per week and may include weekends (full-time preferred) Work schedule will be set by the supervisor based on availability and need EXTRA-HELP EMPLOYMENT Extra-help employees relieve or augment permanent staff.
