While for others, the setting sun signals the start of their shifts. Our crews all have the same goal: streets, roads and bridges that allow people and goods to move through our city. But maintenance workers don't just help people get around. They also maintain the city's sewer and stormwater conveyance system. The Seasonal Maintenance Worker is a member of the bureau's 24-hour response team. You may be required to work after-hour, evening, weekend, and holiday emergency response. General Statement of Duties Maintains parks and related areas within the Parks and Recreation Department; performs related work as required. Distinguishing Features of the Class The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform manual work associated with the repair, maintenance and beautification of City parks and related areas. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Athletic Facilities Superintendent and/or the Cemetery and Parks Superintendent or the Horticulturist but some leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative. An employee in this class performs the duties of other employees in the Parks and Recreation Department as required or as assigned by supervisory personnel. The principal duties of this class are performed in an outdoor environment, which may involve adverse weather conditions and related hazards. Work is performed in a noisy place that exposes the employee to dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts. General Statement of Duties Maintains parks and related areas within the Parks and Recreation Department; performs related work as required. This candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on customer service, possess strong leadership, and have experience learning and using specialized software. Elections Technicians oversee complex projects and/or programs, gather and prepare workload data and reports, prepare and operate election equipment, and lead teams of regular and seasonal staff responsible for performing a variety of assigned elections functions. ABOUT THE REGISTRAR OF VOTERS The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters is responsible for all aspects of the election process for the County's residents. The Registrar of Voters administers all local, state, and federal elections in the County of San Bernardino, including the management of voting systems, the employment and training of poll workers, election ballot processing, and vote tallying. The Registrar of Voters performs all voter registration functions, including the storage and maintenance of voter registration records; and provides voting-related services to voters, elected officials, campaign groups, and other voting interests. The Registrar of Voters also conducts an extensive community outreach and education program, making speakers available to community groups and organizations.
