The Department of Social Services, Family Support Division is seeking a candidate to fill a Program Specialist position within the Domestic Violence and Shelter Services/Victim of Crime Act Unit. This position will be based at 3705 MO Blvd., Jefferson City, MO. Moderate travel which may include overnight is required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: research, review, and analyze federal and state legislation for its intent, meaning, and effects; assist in planning for program development; develop and design new program policy and procedures and modify existing program policy and procedures; review and analysis of existing program and procedures, including the data systems and impact evaluations; interpret policy to field staff and others as required. Individual may work as a group with other units, divisions, departments and/or organizations or work independently depending on the scope of the work assignment. This is a professional position accountable for managing the processes and activities of an agency program or operation or providing support to senior management in a specialized area. Applies professional and technical knowledge to undertake analysis and interpretation of information and data. Participates as a contributing team member, presenting recommendations and building on others’ ideas. Performs assignments under the general guidance and advice from more experienced colleagues or supervisor.
