About Our Job This posting will accept applications until August 11, 2021. This is an on-call position which will work no more than 39 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedules. Denver has over 5,000 acres of traditional parks and parkways which include 2,500 urban natural acres, over 300 acres of parks designated Rivers & Trails and an additional 14,000 acres of spectacular mountain parks. For more information about Denver's Parks and Recreation Department, please visit: https://www.denvergov.org/content/denvergov/en/denver-parks-and-recreation.html The Marketing and Communications Assistant will be an essential part of Denver Parks and Recreation's Marketing and Communications team, providing support for a variety of office and communication functions for both internal and external customers. Job Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point-of-contact for Recreation Center and Program Staff, identifying communication and marketing needs Manage and track various documents such as recreation center calendars, records, budget-related items, operational spreadsheets and email distribution lists Assist marketing and communications team with maintaining brand standards throughout Recreation materials Design promotional materials, including flyers, electronic newsletters and signage Assist administrative team with distributing employee notices Assist administrative team with calendar management, including agenda development, detailed note-taking and follow-up communications Review, edit, proofread and submit general marketing content to ensure consistency, quality and accuracy of information Assist with website maintenance and updates Develop content for social media platforms Support the development of video promotions Interact with both the public and internal customers via phone and email in a professional, courteous manner Other related duties as assigned About You We are looking for an organized and confident professional with excellent oral and written communication skills to support our diverse employee population, along with the greater Denver community. Our ideal candidate will have exceptional time management skills, strong attention to detail, and a demonstrated history of professional workplace communication. In addition, our ideal candidate will possess the following: Experience with direct customer service in person, by phone, and through email Experience in Recreation administration & operations Experience addressing diverse audiences through both written and oral communication Experience using one or more of the following: Outlook ActiveNet Mailchimp Workday Adobe Creative Suite or other design software We realize that your time is valuable, so please do not apply if you do not have at least the following required minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or a related field Experience Requirement: None Education and Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements Licensures/Certification: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
