Description Recreation Project/Grant Assistant 1 After School, Camp, Contracted Classes, Pre-School and Teen Programs (Job Code: 9323) Hours: Casual non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). THE POSITION The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, responsible individual interested in assisting with the administration and supervision of After School, Camp, Contracted Classes, Pre-School and Teen Programs. The Project/Grant Assistant 1 aids in the planning, administration and implementation of all programs hosted through the Recreation Services Division, Youth and Teen Unit. WORKING CONDITIONS Position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading reports and work-related documents and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing personal customer service. The need to lift, drag and push, pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds is also required. Recreation Leader I/II and Recreation Specialists work under general supervision and may provide on-sight supervision, oversight, instruction, and support for a variety of programs, tours, and recreation activities in the areas of sports, cultural arts, interpretive and adaptive services, and other related parks, recreation, senior, youth, and community programs and services.
