Job Description and Duties Metropolitan State Hospital is located in the city of Norwalk. The Department of State Hospitals, Metropolitan State Hospital is currently accepting applications for Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I (Health/Correctional Facility) - Safety, permanent/fulltime. The Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I (SPSW), under the general direction of the Chief of Social Work, provides supervision to clinical social workers, including training, consultation, clinical supervision, auditing of work product, and evaluation of job performance. Essential duties also include monitoring policy adherence, collaboration with stakeholders within the hospital and the community, and treatment program development/evaluation. The SPSW serves as a role model and resource in supporting/maintaining social work best practices, and to ensure that assessed patient needs are provided with consistency and quality. REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must possess completion of a Master of Social Work (MSW) program from an accredited school of social work and must be registered with California Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
