The Cyber Security Analyst (CSA), works on the Security Operations and Architecture team and is in charge of protecting the network and systems at Texas Parks and Wildlife from cyber threats and incidents. The CSA uses various tools and techniques, such as firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection and prevention systems, security information and event management systems, threat intelligence platforms, etc., to identify and mitigate cyber risks. The CSA collaborates with the Information Technology Division and the Business to ensure that systems and networks are continuously designed, developed, deployed, and managed, with strong and effective security and risk management controls. The CSA also performs proactive threat hunting and analysis to detect and prevent attacks before they happen. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Sixty semester hours from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Information Technology Security, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Experience: 5 years full-time experience in information technology, two of which must have been security related. 1 year experience in planning and managing information systems and technology projects. Background Check: Required to pass a national fingerprint-based background check prior to employment offer. Potential candidates will be responsible for expenses related to the background check.
