    Position Description
    Performs advanced, specialized work to assist in the organization and implementation of various projects and programs. Work is performed under minimal supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Works on special projects as assigned. May substitute for supervisor during his/her absence.

    Major/Essential Functions
    Surgery scheduling, including all pre-op and post-op, for OBGYN department patients from internal and external providers. Coordination of patient care between clinics, hospitals, and surgery centers. Insurance referrals and prior authorizations based on eligibility and coverage. Professional, friendly, and clear communication with TTUHSC coworkers and outside representatives, as well as patients. Assist with OBGYN department medical records by filing and copying for billing purposes. Identify and update patient information by navigating multiple computer systems and inputting accurate data. Coordinate surgery schedule information with providers and staff. Must be a trained PSS or Sr PSS.

    Required Qualifications
    High school plus six years experience in related field. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis. Current TTUHSC employee.
