Hood River County is a recreational haven for almost all water sports, snow sports, hiking and bicycling. We are adjacent to the Columbia River and centrally located in the heart of Oregon's Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.   

Hood River County has low crime, great school district, beautiful summer, winter and fall weather.  We attract people from all over the world to wind surf, kite board sailing, hiking beautiful trails and waterfalls, bicycling events, kayaking, snow skiing and snowboarding, salmon fishing and hunting.  We are located 60 miles east of Portland Oregon for those who like the occasional big city perks atmosphere.  We think of it as the best of all worlds!
