The South Wilmington Street Center is a 24 hour Men's Homeless Shelter that serves the Raleigh community. The South Wilmington Street Center (SWSC) Shift Supervisor ensures that all aspects of client intake and facility operations comply with policies. It oversees a team of Guest Services Technicians that provide direct care services to homeless men who are using the South Wilmington Street Center. About Our Team The South Wilmington Street Center (SWSC) offers an array of support services to the homeless citizens of Wake County. The center has 234 beds that are utilized 365 days a year to assist homeless adult males in the community. The Emergency Program provides evening shelter for men on a day-to-day basis provided there is bed space available. Although these men are not guaranteed a bed each night, they have the opportunity based on our lottery system. SWSC provides the men with two meals (dinner and breakfast), hygiene kits, shower and laundry access. Also, it provides outreach and engagement services through our staff. SWSC provides more intensive services through the Progressive Housing Program and the Case Management Program. The support provided to the men through group interaction or individual one-on-one, assisting in obtaining self-sufficiency. What You'll Be Doing Wake County Health and Human Services is looking for a Maternal Health Home Visiting Nurse to join Team Wake! The Maternal Health Nurse works collaboratively with pregnancy care managers, care coordination for children care managers, health educators, WCHHS clinics, WakeMed clinics and others involved in the delivery of care. The Maternal Health Nurse home visits are guided by care plans, protocols, billing and documentation guidelines under the Division of Medicaid covered services. This initiative serves to protect women from reinfection of STD’s, a leading cause of pre-term delivery and infant morbidity. What You'll Be Doing Wake County Child Welfare has over 500 children in foster care. Currently, the Child Welfare division has over 150 children in foster care (in the legal custody or placement responsibility of Human Services) with a plan of adoption. We are currently recruiting for a Permanency Services - ICPC/Adoption Worker . Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children [ICPC] regulates the interstate movement of children. The Compact ensures protection and services to children who are placed across state lines for foster care or adoption. It also provides for securing an evaluation of a prospective placement before the child is sent outside the state and assures that the sending state retains jurisdiction sufficient to ensure the child receives adequate care and protection. As an ICPC Adoption & Permanency Social Worker , your responsibilities will include facilitating the adoption process for both the adopting family and the child who is being adopted. This includes conducting an evaluation of a referred home environment in accordance with applicable requirements of the state in which the home is located, to determine whether a proposed placement of a child meets the individual needs of the child, including the child’s safety, permanency, health, well-being, and mental, emotional and physical development. Upon provisional or final approval of the home supervision/monitoring of the child and the child’s living situation through case closure. The ICPC/Adoption worker also serves as the liaison with the NC ICPC Consultant(s). This specialized function includes working closely with an array of partnering agencies and organizations to place children in approved homes [Adoption; Licensed; Parent and Kinship]. In addition to serving as a liaison between the sending state, child and family, social workers specializing in the permanency process, the ICPC worker is also responsible for working with management on research and policy development issues related to advocating for children available for adoption. Data management and analysis is also critical to support positive outcomes for children and families. The position requires flexibility to manage case management functions on nights and weekends to support a family focused approach as appropriate. In addition, this position may be responsible for managing a modified ICPC/adoption caseload to provide supervision through permanency and serve families within that case until case closure and/or the final adoption decree. What You'll Be Doing In partnership with the community, the Homeless Services team offers high quality and effective human services to persons who are experiencing homelessness or who are experiencing a housing crisis. The South Wilmington Street Center (SWSC) offers an array of support services to the homeless citizens of Wake County. The center has 234 beds that are utilized 365 days a year to assist homeless adult males in the community. SWSC provides more intense services through the Progressive Housing Program. These men are provided with support either through group interaction or individual one-on-one support from a Social Worker to assist them in obtaining self-sufficiency. These men are guaranteed a bed each day as they progress toward their goals and permanent housing. These men are also provided with 3 meals daily, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Hygiene kits, a shower and laundry access, as well as outreach and engagement services from our staff. We are currently seeking a Guest Services Technician to work various shifts at our 24 hour facility on an as needed basis. The Guest Services Technician is an essential part of the South Wilmington Street team that works proactively to help assure the center runs at its fullest potential.
