An employee who is hired by the City after March 19, 2012, from another Public Employees' Retirement (PERS) agency or agency with PERS reciprocity, or with a break in service 6 months or less, shall receive the Second Tier PERS benefit formula of 2% @ 55. A returning Claremont City employee that was enrolled in PERS will receive the PERS benefit formula they received while previously employed with the City, irrespective of the break in service.
