An Administrative Assistant job is available within the City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department in the Business Support division. This position will be responsible for the Human Resources, Time and Labor, and Medical Records functions. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and strong written and oral communication skills. This position requires interpreting the City's personnel rules and policies and federal employment laws. Qualified candidates have experience working in customer service and administrative support and possess good interpersonal skills to work collaboratively. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree from an accredited college with major course work in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field. Four (4) years combined complex clerical and administrative experience. Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years’ experience with People Soft HCM including Time and Labor/Absence. Two (2) years’ experience with FMLA, medical records, workers compensation claims and ADA including Workers' Compensation software. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook and Visio). The Administrative Assistant's job responsibilities include: Serve as the primary payroll/timekeeping function, which includes processing time, resolving payroll errors, troubleshooting payroll issues, and answering related questions. Serve as the Medical Records Coordinator by handling all medical records for divisional staff, including but not limited to workers' compensation, accident reports, and documentation for FMLA. Perform Human Resources duties such as personnel action requests, hiring facilitation, and employee records management. Maintain divisional organizational chart and training database. Advise and support management on human resource matters. Assist management with the submission and tracking of performance appraisals.
