Works in the 152nd Civil Engineer Squadron (department) at the Reno-Tahoe IAP installation with the Nevada Air National Guard. Incumbent is the lead Architectural/Engineering Drafter for 60 acres of land and over 30 facilities. Prepares schematics, design development, working drawings and specifications for new construction, remodeling, and maintenance. Uses computer aided design and drafting software and geographic information system to update base utility infrastructure and building floorplans. Works with real property manager to calculate and track over 400,000 SF of occupied facility space. Leads small to medium construction projects to include pre-bid meeting with contractors, walkthroughs, bid openings, inspections, change orders, and payment to ensure work is complete according to plans and specifications.
