The City of Fresno is currently recruiting for the position of Historic Preservation Specialist. Under general direction, the Historic Preservation Specialist coordinates the City's historic preservation program. Responsible for the identification, evaluation, documentation and registration of significant archeological and historic properties. Incumbents are responsible for developing, interpreting, implementing, and enforcing policy and methods related to historic preservation. This Historic Preservation Specialist will review properties for eligibility to the local, State and National Register of Historic Places, draft nomination forms, provide oversight to architectural survey contracts, perform cultural resources database management, and provide recommendations regarding preservation review. One vacancy exists in the Planning and Development Department. Immediate and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of three (3) months from the date the eligible list is created, with the option of extending that period at the City's discretion.
