Position Description The Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC) is a relationship building. This position assists the Operating Maintenance Engineers with repairs of systems, equipment, and fixtures. WORK LOCATION: This position currently works on-site only. Job Duties and Responsibilities Assist in various physical plant and equipment repair and maintenance projects. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned. Complete event program assignments as assigned. Proactively troubleshoot, maintain, and repair simple lighting and plumbing issues, including replacing bulbs, clearing drains, and replacing/repairing fixtures. Proactively seek areas/equipment needing repair. Assist with basic carpentry, including repairing doors, locks, etc. Repair issues that arise during events with a high sense of urgency. Ability to troubleshoot problems with building equipment and perform maintenance and upkeep. Ability to deal with emergency repairs with urgency as needed. Ability to read diagrams to help locate problems. Change belts and lubricate systems and controls to equipment. Maintain records as assigned. Perform light janitorial duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires repetitive lifting or other physical tasks including walking up and down ladders, climbing scaffolds, working in confined spaces. Requires working with lime, dirt, small print, heat stress, exposure to hazardous conditions, such as loud noises, chemicals or gas fumes or other equivalent dangers. The internship will deliver hands on knowledge of the tourism industry and valuable professional experience. The salary range for this position is $16.68- $22.52 per hour with a hiring range of $ 16.68 - $ 19.60 , depending on qualifications and experience.
