Delegate, assign, support, and review part-time staff and operate a program or center in the absence of professional staff. Train and oversee part-time staff and volunteers in leading recreational activities. Assist, support, and participate in maintaining appropriate program information and devising work schedules; oversee special event and athletic field permitting and reservations and ensure staff follows designated standards and protocols. Conduct and administer computerized registration and facility reservation programs; process the paperwork or payments associated with the registration and reservation. Inspect and oversee the care of the facility and outdoor area to ensure the location is safe to conduct activities. Attend, conduct, and participate in various meetings to ensure cohesive transparency between all recreational facilities and programs. Promote and market assigned programs; assist in developing outreach methods, social media output, and other advertisement; teach and facilitate classes and other program elements. Purchase supplies and train staff on procedures for purchasing supplies; ensure adherence to budget limits and inventory needs. Participate in recruiting, selecting, interviewing, and training of new staff members; provide feedback and support decision making procedures; ensure appropriate staff coverage for facilities and events. Collaborate and work closely with higher level staff in facilitating relationships with local groups associated with assigned tasks. JOB SUMMARY: The Overnight Shelter Program Coordinator will assist guests who are experiencing homelessness and are often times struggling with substance abuse, trauma, physical or mental health. The Coordinator will work with the Shelter Manager, Lead Coordinator, shelter staff, Community Partnership Administrator, and other service providers, the Shelter Coordinator will assist with overnight shelter services and provide guidance. The Recreation Instructor is a broad classification and encompasses various assignments with department flexibility to assign employees based on the meeting of wage qualifiers. Employees will be assigned utilizing a formula which incorporates the following characteristics: Wage Qualifiers : An individual assigned to Recreation Instructor will be reviewed and placed according to the meeting of the below qualifiers. It is important to note the Recreation Instructor is subject to regular review upon initial placement and each time the same class/program is proposed/submitted/held, a new/revised class/program is submitted/held and/or to ensure the individual is meeting the noted qualifiers and placement to wage is or remains appropriate. Each class is looked at individually to determine a rate of pay, using a formula that is based on the following: Determined number of hours an instructor will need to work in a given class/program session; Determined charge/rate for class/program and use of that rate to assist in determining the instructor's rate of pay; The facility capacity to meet the minimum and maximum class/program size standards; Minimum and maximum required to teach a successful class/program; Minimum and maximum numbers to cover cost of said instructor's minimum rate; and Job performance will be evaluated and increased/decreased based on the instructor's evaluation and the number of participants enrolled.
