Essential Functions The IT Intern will provide technical support to our staff and customers. You will be responsible for resolving various IT issues such as software installation, network configuration, virus removal, hardware troubleshooting, etc. You will also assist with IT projects and tasks related to networking and cybersecurity. Duties may include the following: Provide first-level support for IT requests and incidents via phone, email, chat, or in person Troubleshoot and resolve common IT issues such as password resets, software updates, printer problems, etc. Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior IT staff or external vendors Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, etc. Assist with network administration tasks such as setting up user accounts, permissions, VPNs, firewalls, etc. Perform basic cybersecurity tasks such as scanning for vulnerabilities, applying patches, monitoring logs, etc. Document IT procedures and solutions in a knowledge base Participate in IT projects and initiatives as assigned Stay updated on current IT trends and best practices Knowledge, skills and abilities preferred for an IT intern: Pursuing a degree or certification in IT or related field, basic knowledge of Windows 10 operating system and Microsoft Office 2016 applications, basic knowledge of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc., basic knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and tools such as antivirus software, firewalls, encryption, etc., excellent customer service skills and problem-solving skills, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, ability to work independently and as part of a team This is a part-time, non-benefited position of a limited duration.
