Job Summary The Wellness and Health Promotion department supports the mission of the Student Wellness Center (SWC) by providing universal health promotion, education, and prevention programs which take place both within and outside of the SWC. The Health Promotion Specialist participates in the coordination of the Peer Health Educator (PHE) program (student assistants) who provide PHE workshops, outreach events, and social marketing for the SJSU student body. The anticipated primary health specialty area of responsibility is sexual health in addition to supporting overall health promotion, education, and prevention within the department of wellness & Health Promotion and the greater Student Wellness Center. Working collaboratively to support student success is the bottom line purpose of this and all SWC positions. The Police Services Specialist The Albemarle County Department of Police is actively recruiting a Police Services Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time entry-level position in the Services and Activities Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for the function of records and communications of the Police Department. Fleet Management provides services for the majority of county vehicles and equipment. Services include the acquisition, maintenance, repair, modification, and disposal of vehicles and other related equipment. San Bernardino County Sheriff and Special Districts Departments are authorized to operate their respective fleets independent of Fleet Management. Coordinate Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) program services such as housekeeping, meal preparation, health, and/or personal care by making/receiving contact with participants and providers to complete service authorizations Develop and implement a care plan that meets the participant’s unmet needs by making participant contact, collateral contacts and home visit(s), considering participant choice of providers Represent DSDS in administrative hearings Travel within a multi-county area to conduct home visits, attend hearings and training sessions, utilizing your personal vehicle when necessary. Travel may include possible overnight stays and overtime. Assume accountability and responsibility over the program's integrity, operations, and success. Bachelor’s Degree or higher level degree from an accredited college or university (substitutions may be allowed). Strong interviewing and communication skills Keen attention to detail and documentation Exhibit disability & cross-generational awareness Prior experience with customer service and working with the elderly, persons with disabilities or other vulnerable population is preferred Preferred Qualifications: One or more years of experience working with the elderly and or disabled population or other related human services field.
